Split

Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the largest city on the Croatian coast.

The distance from camping Galeb to Split city center is 25 km, and the distance to the entrance to the city is only 18 km. You can easily reach Split from the camping by bus, with departure every 30 minutes. The bus station is on the entrance to the camping.
The heart of Split city center is actually a 1700 years old palace of the Roman Empire Diocletian. Not only has it been on UNESCO's list of world heritage since 1979, its beauty has also been a true magnet for visitors from all over the world. The city of Split, situated on a half island at the foot of Marjan hill, is a cultural center with strong theater scene. You can experience it particularly during summer season, which has been characterized by summer theater festival for the last 50 years.

As for gastronomy, you can enjoy various specialties in worldly restaurants as well as in authentic Dalmatian taverns. There is a rich offer of nightlife ranging from discotheques, high class bars and casinos to alternative gigs and modern art theme cafes.
